Managing Activities

Activities are what you run with classes as practicals. From this page, you will create, edit, and map skills to activities.

Create Activity

The Create Activity button will allow you to add an activity for your school. You will map the skills on a seperate page.

Mapping Skills to an Activity

To map skills to an avtivity:

  • Press the alt text button for the desired activity, and select Manage Mapped Skills.
  • Tick all the skills you would like mapped to this activity. Skills which have sub-skills will not be toggle-able. You can only toggle the sub skills (achievement of the skill is dependent on them having achieved all the sub-skills)
  • Select effective date: by default this is today, and will only affect practicals that will run from today onwards. If you select a data in the past, all practicals since then will have their skills updates to match these mapped skills (this may result in loss of achievement for students for additionally mapped skills, so use this carefully)
  • Press Save Mapped Skills.

Making Activities Active and Inactive

Activities are either marked as Active or Inactive.

Active activities will be available for teachers to run with a class as a practical Inactive activities will not appear. This is for activities that have been sueprseded or replaced, but you want to retain achievement linked to these activities for students who have completed it.

You can use the alt text button to make individual activities Active/Inactive.

Alternatively, select multiple activities and select the Actions button that will appear at the top of the table. Select Make Active or Make Inactive to change the state of all selected activities.
